This is my second replacement Drag Specialties oil pressure gauge after a number of years of use, it displays a steady easy to see non-vibrating needle even though the gauge is solidly mounted via a chrome metal plate bracket to the rear cylinder rocker box on the right side not shown in the photo of my 34 yr old 74 c.i. shovelhead Harley thanks to the liquid filled with mineral oil flooding the gauge face. Unfortunately the clear plastic lens bezel yellows and hazes from either age or exposure to heat and the clear mineral oil under the gauge face turns brown from the same exposure or time making seeing gauge numbers difficult if not nearly impossible. One of my earlier automotive oil press gauges had a glass lens and it stayed clear like new but the gauge it self failed due to vibration over time after more then 10 or 12 yr's of service. To summarize: I like these gauges and I wouldn't mind replacing this gauge even after 2 to 4 yr's if it cost was under $20.00 but for $49.95 plus shipping it should be serviceable or have at least a better quality higher grade lens, or one made of glass instead of plastic that reacts to the oil under the lens. I hope this evaluation is forwarded and reaches the manufacturer that Drag Specialties buys from.
