Bought October 2013. A winter of frozen snow and sheets of ice, and a summer of windy rain followed that first year in Maryland. Two years of hot and humid summers, and more windy rain followed in South Carolina. Only recently did a few spots in the top seams start to come apart from the sheer heat of the sun. At the same time, I've watched a neighboring cycle with a different cover fall apart more and more over the past year. When I returned to SC after evacuating from Hurricane Matthew this week, only two new holes appeared on the lower sides but the cruiser overall was still otherwise protected. With a little Gorilla tape, this cover still works to keep my cruiser clean and dry even after three years of long term outdoor duty. I'll plan to buy this cover again, maybe in silver to reflect the sun next summer.
Over the years I have used several "cheap" covers, and they have all worn out quickly. I originally had used a Dowco cover, but didn't want to spend the extra for a new one. I was pleasantly surprised to see the quality was indeed still there, and they have indeed "improved" their product.. I should have stayed with them... I will now..
This item is at least the third one that I have ordered from Dennis Kirk. The DOW is the best cover I have ever owned. I have a 1982 Honda CB750F(Super Sport) so I have always needed the same size and same fit. This provides a good proving ground for the DOW because I have used this product exclusively through these many years! The bike has always been outside in a car port, so this cover has had to act as a roof, protection from UV rays, dampness and blowing rain. The only reason for ordering yet another one is because of the cover's eventual deterioration where the rays of the sun have been the most severe. In this case, the rear part of the cover is exposed, so the fabric on the front is still in good shape, but the rear developed bad tears. Patching with duct tape only prolongs the inevitable. But I will always order the DOW because of its excellent quality!
I ride a 2010 honda interstate with saddlebags and a top case, I first bought the large dowcow cover which is the one that was supposed to fit but it was to small so I got the XL and it fits perfectly haven't had a chance to use it yet but I'm sure it will work great.
I've only had this cover a short time. But, it appears to be of good quality. Fit is a bit tight on my bike and I worry about how long the elastic around the bottom will stay tight. It barely covers my bike (Dyna Glide Custome), but, I have a sissy bar. But, as I said, so far, so good.
This cover is a good quality cover for storage. It's not easy to get the correct fit these days when were all adding bars and accessories to our bikes. I bought the xl size for my FLSTF that has 16 inch apes on it. Cover fits pretty good, just wish it was a little longer on the bottom to really suck under to keep debris out.
