If there's one thing we know about in Washington State, it's RAIN- precipitation, showers, mizzle, drizzle, sprinkles, deluges, downpours, cloudbursts, torrents, innundations, we see it all. And so has my Dowco Guardian Deluxe rainsuit. I take it whenever I ride, it packs small, and it's light, but fits over my leather Jacket and pants, and is durable. I haven't had any leaks so far- two years now. It's everything I could ask for in a rainsuit and the best part is the price. Very inexpensive.
My wife and I just got back from a trip to Milwaukee. On our way we hit the rain storm that put Milwaukee in a state of emergency. 5.5 hours of riding through rain and a bit of hail and the suits kept us dry. This was a great purchase, and for the price you can not beat it. While on the trip a friend of ours who purchased a more expensive rain suit got soaked, so I told where to get the ones we purchased.
I was greatly surprized when I opened the package to inspect and found a very good quality product, after tyring on it fits just as I would expect a high priced product. Soon it rained while riding the other day, I pulled over and put it on and continued to ride in the rain for 35 miles and at times it rained very hard to only find when I arived home to find I was dry after removing. I would recommend this to all and to top it off you can't beat the price.
Havent had the "opportunity" to ride in the rain since l got the suit in December... l am 6'1" and 200lbs. The XL suit fits me well with room for leathers underneath. I like the reflective piping and labels on the suit.
This rain suit works well, and at a fairly low cost. One draw back that I seen was the bottom of the leg openings would work better if there was elastic around the cuffs, as the legs want to slide down under your boots when walking or standing.
Acceptable product unknow water resistance as of thie date, at 6'2", 210lbs. with a 33" reach with 48" chest. The XL fit comfortably. I didn't have extra room for a heavy leather jacket. I could if needed walk around at events and such without looking like a nerd with too much material but I have enought room to sit and reach the bars and ride. There isn't a heat shield but most don't and shouldn't be a problem. China packaged the first order incorrectly, large jacket, XL bottoms however a call to D-Kirk and the easy return made fixing it no problem. I prefer the polyester feel over other materials.
I haven't needed to use it yet. I would be happy if I never had to. It seems large enough to fit over my leather. I ordered my normal XL size. I'm not sure the legs would hold up if bumped into a hot pipe. The shipping was a bit slower than is usual for Dennis Kirk.
The rain-suit seemed to be well made however the sleeves were too short and the pant legs were extremely long on the medium. I am 5'10" and could not make it work. Wish it fit; the price was right and seemed to be a quality product despite the fit.
