Dirt Bike Brake Calipers & Caliper Rebuild Kits

Don’t let a leaky caliper or stuck caliper piston go untouched. These issues can lead to brake failure and eliminate your ability to stop when you need it most. Fortunately, rebuilding a dirt bike brake caliper is a simple enough task that you can do it at home. At Dennis Kirk, you will find everything you need to rebuild your brake caliper or replace it all together. We keep it all in stock and ready to ship fast so you can be out riding again as soon as possible.

So, what causes a dirt bike brake caliper to start leaking? Over time, exposure to heat and dust will wear out the seals of the caliper piston. This allows brake fluid to escape past the piston. Not only will the loss of fluid cause you to lose braking power, but it can also become a fire hazard with hot fluid hitting hot rotors or exhaust. Dust can also wedge itself alongside the caliper piston preventing it from sliding in and out. This can result in your pads sticking out or not engaging at all. The springs and hardware in a brake caliper can also fail, which will prevent the pads from being properly aligned.

With brake caliper rebuild kits, you can bring new life to your leaking caliper. These kits include all the seals, rubber boots and hardware you need to complete the job. Replacement pins and pistons are also available if they need to be replaced. And of course, if the caliper is completely trashed, you can replace the whole unit as well.

If your caliper was acting up, be sure to check your brake rotors and brake pads. Chances are these components have worn unevenly with a malfunctioning brake caliper. Conversely, whenever you check your pads and rotors in the future, be sure to also examine the calipers on your dirt bike.
