I really, really like this product. So far I used it on my motorcycle seat, bicycle cables, and faux leather jacket. It goes on easy and penetrates deep, leaving a deep coat of protection that looks good too but doesn't feel wet or greasy. With the jacket, I did one arm and couldn't remember which, so I put the two arms side by side. Night and day difference. The done side was rich and glossy looking, while the undone side was dull. Will try it on the car dash and inside vinyl shortly.
Four notes. (1) make sure you are okay with a semi-glossy finish on some things. The motorcycle seat didn't change much (real leather), but the jacket (faux leather) did. Personally I like the look of the jacket much better after applying this, but to each his/her own. You might try it first on a remote corner just to see.
(2) the instructions say to use a soft cotton cloth to apply. I would suggest using something very flat and thin. I actually used some Good Year dry wipes that I got at Menards, which I believe have some polyester or something similar in them. I think these wipes worked better than pure cotton would have because the spray stayed more on the outside of the wipes instead of soaking in.
(3) do not spray directly on the material, as you will use more conditioner than you need. Spray a little on the cloth and then wipe in a circular pattern on the material.
(4) don't let the price scare you, as this is well worth it and will last a long time. One small spray on the cloth will do a decent size area (e.g., roughly 6" diameter circle on the jacket). I suspect that cheaper products require more spray, and don't do as good of a job.
Happy leather, vinyl, and rubber care from the Hawk man!
I have been sold on Cycle Care Products since the mid nineties. I only use their formulas on my cycles. I was given another product and used it on my motorcycle seat. The next day I found a white residue all over my seat. It wouldn't wash off. I used the formula 4 which took the residue off and threw away the product that was given to me. Wrong decision to try something else. I also use formula 4 to shine up the dull black plastic on the inner fairing of my Harley and the inner lower fairing also. This product is great and even smells great.
