Back in the saddle
2009 got me back in a VFR saddle. The 98 800FI. It's a heavy sportbike, and I am a heavy rider. I go about 270 pounds. I have an older VFR that went over 100k miles with me, and I never got more than 3000 miles out of a tire.
That said, the front tire still looks OK at about 4500 miles now. The Louisiana weather never gets really "cold" for the likes of northern states, but the cool weather grip (30s and 40s air temp, seldom frozen ground) is really impressive, after having put many miles on North Carolina roads commuting. Most tires I have owned required a little warm up, Michelins being ther shortest warmup I have seen so far, but these are close to Michelins. Although, to be fair, it does not get as cold here in Louisiana. The bike still handles well at this mileage, but the back is showing some wear. It may be time to get a new one. The handling is fine, and the price is great. There may be better rubber out there, but nowhere close to this price!

Unbelieveable wear
At the rate of my 84 ft. lbs of torque, Buell XB12R was eating up tires, thought I'd give a "bargin" tire a shot. All other tires before this this one fell way short of 3K miles. Am commuting 100 miles round trip a day when the weather is fair, and a occasional Sunday spirited group ride. This tire has taken me way beyond the 4K mile mark before ever showing a sign of becoming square! Great traction, excellent response. Will replace with nothing other than this model! Give it a shot, you will not be dissapointed!

Most Uniform Wear Pattern I've Seen. Edge to Edge
First I would like to thank the Continental Tire Company/Team, for making this particular tire. Continental Tire, we thank you, keep it up. OK the tire Screamin Eagle GT502!, I thought it was, the first time I seen the rear tire "CONTI-Motion" I was flipping through a September 2009 issue Motorcycle Magazine. At the time, when I looked, searched and browsed for available info on this Sport Tour MC tire. Dennis Kirk had info&stocked it as the Tire(13) Motion/Conti 180\55ZR17. C.O.D.d it, 7 day's later the Big Brown Truck delivered.

INFO , on '99 Buell S3 (O.E.M.s D205x2)>D220(x2)>>D208(x2)>>>D209 (x2)Sportmax's rears, used from July 2002 to Nov. 2009. Total=8
Average= 2,200 mi. on rear tire tread life, mount and balanced 1 around every 11 months. Note:I replace my back tire when there is a white ring around center of the tire.
I'm a recreational rider, no track day usage tho, on rain day's I leave the bike parked.

*CONTI-MOTION Rear MC Sport\Tour... Actual Tread Life 4,800 mi. 18mo. "Scouts Honor"
The wear pattern, from one side to the other, most uniform wear pattern I have seen!!!. GM

Impressed.
The Conti's performed better than I expected on an introduction to the Track Day. Good feedback, good grip, great value and No Chicken Strips. These are (not) Track Day Tires for any more than an introduction to the Track experience.

Pro Products!
The fr. Conti motion Tire is one of the best for knee down traction, it really grips and any slides are well projected to the rider in plenty of time to correct. Very predictable and also good in the wet and cold riding conditions!
From beginner to pro long lasting safety in a great compound tire. Highly Rcommended!

Great tire, poor mileage
I tried a set of the Conti Motion on my 09 Kawasaki Concours-1400. The OE Bridgestones lasted just over 5000 miles. The front end never felt right with the oe tires and the front tire ended up with a wear pattern which had tread left at the center and edges that made the handling go from weird to terrible. I tried a set of the Motions knowing that an inexpensive tire may not last that long, but I have loved every hard ridden mile I have had them on the C-14. The rear lasted 3208 miles with nice even wear all the way to the edges, with very little squaring off, up 'til the wear bars showed up. The front is still going strong at 3500mi with a much better wear pattern than the oe tire. I think that I'll get at least 5000 out of the front.
The tires handled great from the start and I came to trust their grip and enjoy them at very high speeds and hard cornering. Initiating, leaning and holding a line were all improved. 65% highway, 35% hard mtn riding, 100% hauling ^ss, which is this bike's specialty. They worked great in the wet, and although I ease up and never push their limits, no slippage.
This is an excellent handling tire, but as I balance the price against the expense of the short life of the rear, I think I will try something else. I could live with this tire at this price though.

Great Price
Riding season is ending here so I haven't had a chance to put many miles on these tires. Dry traction seems to be good. I avoid riding in the wet if at all possible. Ride quality seems compliant...not as harsh as my Dunlop Qualifiers were. I'm hoping for better mileage than the Dunlops. Much better price than the Dunlops. Fast shipping.
