The Good, The Bad, The UGLY
First I knocked it down a star strictly because of COBRA'S quality control not Dennis Kirk's. THE GOOD: Great Price, good Quality Fast Shipping. THE BAD: COBRA does not consider the end user and clean out bolthole threads after they CHROME the Sissy Bar prior to shipping. THE UGLY: Supplied bolts MAY NOT and in my case WOULD NOT screw in smoothly like they should and may get STUCK (as one of mine did) so it wont screw in or out and you could end up breaking it off trying to back it out (as I did). The allen wrench hole on the mounting bolts are not strong, so if you apply any pressure above normal to remove the stuck bolt, it will strip. I then had to use a pair of vice grips to try and remove the bolt, which in turn broke the bolt in half leaving the end of the bolt in the Sissy Bar. I HAD TO DRILL OUT THE BROKEN BOLT. Save yourself a headache and between the time you order and the Sissy Bar arrives go to the hardware store and buy a tread cleaning tool, you will need a metric 8mm X 1.25, also know as a High Carbon Plug Tap (about 4 bucks). USE IT to clean up the chrome from the threads holes BEFORE INSERTING MOUNTING BOLTS INTO SISSY BAR! You will save yourself a 3-hour headache and the possibility of messing up your new Sissy Bar. Don’t start the install off by doing as I did and breaking off the bolt and wishing you had cleaned out the threads! It a great sissy bar for the price and you wont go wrong by getting it, just pay attention when inserting those bolts.

Bad threads, good looking backrest though.
Went onto bike very easily but when it came time to attach the backrest to the two bars had trouble screwing the bolts provided into the threads on the wings. After reviewing the reviews,(wished I read before I ordered) other people had the same problem and used a threader to clean out overchrome. I called Cobra direct, no 800 #'s available, the tech said he doesn't believe reviewers on Dennis Kirk site and the have never heard of the problem. (right!) He shipped me two new bolts as I couldn't get one of them all the way flush. While struggling to get that bolt out it snapped the head off. Now I have three in and one with no head. Called them again and they suggest taking to dealer to have it drilled out and retool threads. If I wanted to do that I would have bought it at dealer and let them install an OEM backrest.

Good quality
Great plating and fit. Some plating in threads, took a few minutes to clean threads with 8mm x 1.25 tap, easy install after that. Looks good.

In my oppinion
It looks great and is comfortable for the passanger. The draw back is if you have sadle bag bars the bolts are not long enough. So be prepared to buy some. Instructions were easy to follow and assembly was quick and easy.

easy
Installation of this product was very easy. I would recommend chasing the threads first to remove excess chrome. But over all a great product!
