I was changing the pipes out on my 08 Roadstar Warrior and thought I'd do the Intake and add a module without spending a fortune. This module did the trick, I installed some Cobra Speedster Swepts and this FI2000R at the same time. The FI2000R is ridiculously easy to install and operate. For my application it was literally ten minutes to install, Im glad cause I was really concerned with the install as I"m not the most experienced in working on bikes. Literally took off the seat and two bolts, then plug it in and put the seat back on. Bikes sounds great, runs great. Adjusting it to your needs is easy as turning a screw. I wasn't looking to do dyno's or to get every ounce of HP out of the bike, it's a warrior it's already fast! I would highly recommend this fuel module. Cobra did it right!
After installing Cobra Speedster Shorts onto my 08 Mean Streak, I rode about 100 miles before installing the FI2000R. The difference once the FI2000R was installed was a dramatic improvement. It smoothed out the engine at all rev levels, and eliminated backfiring. Still working to find the very best setting, but since the changes are simple turns with an eyeglass screwdriver followed by a test ride, it is easy enough. Installation was moderately difficult, primarily due to tight spaces and tricky electrical connections on the bike to get the tank off. Connecting the FI2000R once the tank was off was a snap. Overall, if you change pipes, this is a must have. With a second set of (small, strong) hands, installation is pretty straightforward. The hour and a half of my time was worth the $250 the dealer wanted to install it.
After installing after market Cobra pipes on my Honda VTX 1800R I had decel popping that drove me nuts. I installed the Fi2000R in about 30 minutes. With the preset settings the bike now runs great without any pop.
An extremely east install; plug and play at it's best! As long as you're familiar with the component layout of your bike, it won't be a problem. I will say that the instructions black and white photo figures could be a little larger to better illustrate. That said, was a piece of cake. I had no need to fiddle with the preset pots, as soon as I fired her up and tested her out, it just felt right! Beautiful piece of equipment from cobra that does what they say! Instant performance improvement with my Vance & Hines pipes and Arlen Ness Big Air Sucker. Excellent!!
I installed this on my Honda VTX 1800. I test rode the bike and could tell little to no difference. I took a ride that was two states away. I logged a lot of miles in a few days. I started noticing a small popping noise in my front pipe. I went start riding again that evening and it would not start back. I had to get my bike hauled back home. When I inspected the fi2000 is showed to be working. I then unplugged it and plugged everything back to original specks and the bike started working again. I would not purchase this item unless you pack a lot of tools with you.
Bought a used bike with cobra pipes and it was popping all the time and running very rich at all engine speeds. Popped this on in about 90 minutes, made one quick adjustment and it is much much smoother and sounds great! I may still get it dyno tested to tweak it but that will be after I add the K&N filter. As is, though, it sounds much better and response 100% better.
After looking at nearly every product available I finally went with the Cobra Fi2000R for my 08 Kawasaki Vulcan 900C and am I ever satisfied. From the ease of installment to the performance my bike delivers down to the final cost of the product I am overwheming satisfied. Thank You Dennis Kirk for the super cost value and fast delivery.
The fuel processor was easy to install on my 08 Vulcan 900LT. The instructions were easy to understand too. This item is a must if you install a new exhaust system. It's preset for my bike and really is plug and play. I'm very pleased with my purchase.
I had some popping problems at part throttle after putting on my Cobra pipes. After installing the FI2000, I still had the pop at part throttle, but the throttle response was much better. After doing some digging online, I blocked off the intake hose for the emissions, and I played around with the adjustments some more. The popping at part throttle is gone now. The bike now has a wicked sounding exhaust tone, nice and crisp. Good product for the money, but a little more information from Cobra would've saved me some time.
Easy to install, my fiancé and I put it on the bike in no time. It is a touch and go way to tune your bike, I'm not an experienced mechanic but I think I've got it dialed in pretty well. I installed a K&N air filter, cobra streetrod slashdowns, this cobra fuel processor and the bike runs like a rapped ape, I mean it flat out gets it on! I own a 2005 Suzuki C50 Boulevard.
Called several cycle shops, all hands down recommended the Fi2000 Fuel Processor! The only one that didnt was Harley- go fiqure. They wanted to sell me a screamin eagle race tuner and dyno it, at $700.00. This unit makes race tuners and dyno's a thing of the past!! I noticed the difference immediately on my stock 2011 110 CVO, And it only gets better because you dont touch it no matter what modifications you make. The spark plugs look nice and brown like there supposed to, not all leaned out like the factory sets the fuel management. Dont wait put this unit on, I believe it will add more miles to the motor not running it so hot.
The unit was smaller then I thought it would be, which made it easier to fit under the seat. Good and accurate directions for installation. Nice plug and play product that was easy to install. It was a bit of work removing the Tank of the Vulcan 2000, but the directions explained the process thoroughly. I am using it on my Vulcan 2000 with Freedom Sharp Curve Exhaust and a Barron Big Air kit. I requested support from Cobra as to the recommended setting and have not heard back yet. I had intended to bring it to a shop and have it setup on the Dino. Overall I am pleased with the look and fit of the unit and hopefully will be just as pleased with the performance.
I have a 2005 1500 Vulcan Classic. Put on Cobra drag pipes and a K&N Air system. Ran my bike for a couple of days before the processor came in. pretty slugish. when I got the processor it was easy to install and made a big difference in the way the bike ran. More pick-up than the bike has ever had. Highway throttle is even better. Plus improved my gas mileage. Great part and price.
Was simple and easy! Cured all my backfire problems and made it sure snappy! Came set up for my bike, 04 meanie 1600. Didn't uninstall tank, just lifted diconnect vent tubes, reached in and unhooked injectors plugged in system, hooked up ground and prayed. started up on first try! Cobra pipes, KNN filter, block off plates now with Fi2000 Fuel Processor it all works great Thanks Dennis Kirk!
Installed the fuel processor along with an V&N exhaust system. The Cobra can pre-tuned to my bike, so I didn't have to monkey around with the adjustment screws. However, the adjustment screws are easily accessible in case you wanted to make additional adjustments. Installation was pretty simple - just raise the gas tank and plug it in to the existing wiring harness. I haven't experienced any lean fuel mixture problems, so I'd say the Cobra works as advertised.
Purchased the Fi2000R fuel processor along with Cobra True Dual exhaust. Had been running stock exhaust (with baffles removed). Bike was running poorly - throttle lag, rough idle, bike would die at red lights, etc...air fuel mixture all screwed up. Was a little apprehensive about installing the fuel processor myself, but the installation process was amazingly simple. Instructions were spot on and left nothing to judgement. Literally a plug and play scenario - it was that simple!! Total FI2000R install time - approximately 25-30 minutes - took longer removing and reinstalling the seat than it did to install the fuel processor. The FI2000R came preset with the recommended settings for my bike, and noticeable improvements were immediate. Improved throttle response, smooth idle, no longer running lean. Very impressed! Wish I had done this many miles ago.
I have a vtx 1800s and this tuner was so easy to install. I used the default settings the unit came with. The bike is runnung perfectly, the directions were very easy to follow. I have a K&N air filter and Vance&Hines exhaust. Awesome trio for power and performance. Definitely a great buy and this is the best price on the web.
I have one of these for my 06 GSXR 1k. I have a slip on yoshi pipe and a K@N airfilter installed. My bike was lean and althought the power was there..so was the deceleration pop. I installed the cobra in less time than I had with the Dynojet I ad on my 04 GSXR 750. And it did the same service for my bike and at a lower cost to me. It came setup for my bike so I have made no adjustments. It seems to have dropped my MPG but that comes with the territory of getting the bike to richen up from the lean settings from the factory. It has made my bike growl. When riding aggresive it has eliminated almost all the pop except at about 10-11k range. Also its easily accessable and easily adjusted. Perfect for all those who arent stuck on name brands and dont need all the bells and whistles that come with other units. Simple and easy..a piece that does its job well at a decent price.
Installed easier than I expected. I am not a mechanic and had no issues removing the tank and installing the Fi2000R. Installed Cobra Slash down pipes and the same time and bike (2008 Suzuki C50) runs and sounds great.
The cobra fi 2000 fuel processer is an excellent product for person's who have bikes with fuel injection. it takes out the hassle of having to guess on how best to twink your bike to get the maxiumn amount of performance from your fuel injection system.
I had an 06 yamaha fz1 (new from dealer) and installed a exhaust, and this cobra FI management kit. My bike still ran very very lean (especially in the midrange) and very choppy on and off the throttle. I ended up raking off the cobra FI kit and installed a power commander and an ivan's FCE. Once I did this the bike ran much better. So this product works okay, but I guess I didn't have the range of adjustability and the power commander is just a much nicer system.
Easy to install, engine runs smoother and you can use 87 to 93 octane gas if you need to. With the carbon freaks in charge Gas is getting and will get more costly, a good reason to get this installed on your bike now.
