Reviews for Bridgestone Rear Exedra Max 170/70B-16 Blackwall Tire - 004863
I have an '11 Vaquero and the stock rear (Exedra non-Max#, gave me 7100 miles. Mostly commuting and #1) 3K mile trip. I put a "Max" on it and got a little over 10K out of it. Still commuting and 1 long trip. Both tires went thru a Phx summer and were ridden the same way. I didnt notice a difference in handling between the OEM and the Max. I was considering going to the dark side, but 10K on a $130 tire is acceptable.I would recommend this item to a friend.
My bike is a completely stock '08 StreetGlide that I've had trouble finding different brand tires in the sizes I need. These tires are not even listed for Harleys, and I don't understand why. This is the first set of Bridgestone tires I've tried, and I can't get over the huge difference in ride, handling, and high-speed stability. I was previously using the original Michelin Commanders (which were satisfactory# and became accustomed to the wobble going into curves @ 80-90 mph. Not anymore! These tires have completely transformed my Harley! It rides much, much better; handles curves like a sport bike; and best of all, it tracks like an arrow without ANY wobble. Here's my secret: I'm running the BT-45 150/17 REAR tire on the front, and the Exedra Max #same tire ?) 170/16 rear tire on the back. They fit with plenty of clearance. Most "experts" say not to run rear tires on the front, but I disagree. My experience shows superior results with the added bonus of higher load rating and more mileage. Dennis Kirk had exactly what I was looking for, at the best price around, and quick shipping. What more could you want.I would recommend this item to a friend.
The Stones have it!!
Tried a number of rear and front tires between my two bikes. I like the Radial 180/70/16 version of this tire on the back of my Goldwing. And consistently get 16,000 miles. Use the bias ply 170/70/16 rear and 150/80/16 front versions on my Nomad and consistently get 15,000 miles on the rear and 22,000 on the front. Handling doesn't noticeably drop off with wear and cupping is much less evident than with others such as the dunlops I tried. And they are the least expensive option I have found for either bike!I would recommend this item to a friend.
Good tire, great price
The original Exedra that came on my Voyager lasted 10,500 miles. Hopefully this Exedra Max will get more miles than original. Had tires put on in Tucson. Drove home through the Salt River Canyon on SR77. Pushed the speed limit a bunch to try the tires. They felt great, really good grip, a lot stiffer than the original Exedra's. Did not feel like they wanted to wallow in the corners like original tires did. So far am happy with them. You can't beat the price and shipping from Dennis Kirk either. If you get a chance to ride in Arizona, the Salt River Canyon is between Globe and Show Low. Try it, you will like it! A mini Grand Canyon!I would recommend this item to a friend.
Just purchase this tire.
I had the same tire on front when I purchase the bike new. The old tire had over a 11 housand mile on it when I replaced. Will see how long this one last.I would recommend this item to a friend.
Bridgestone Exedra Max
Looks identical to the 170-70/16 Excedra standard I just removed. Purchased due to claim that it gets more milage, to soon to tell. Comfortable ride, good grip in turns.I would recommend this item to a friend.
