My sole purpose of going to LED was to save watts on my battery system but I still Needed a bulb that was as bright or brighter than stock lighting (I Want to be seen!) I have two bulbs so I was able to do a real time side by side comparison as I installed them for any difference in brightness. As a regular Taillight the LEDs are slightly brighter than my stock bulbs. With brake applied the Stock are slightly brighter. Not enough difference to make it an issue for me. These LED bulbs are set up to emit light all the way around, thus eliminating the common dot lighting some LEDs are known for. A bit expensive but for my purpose of saving 20 watts, well worth it. comparison was on an 06 Suzuki V-Strom 650
what more can I say? I bought this to avoid having to deal with burnt out bulbs, the LED works so much better and seems to be immune to vibrations. The bonus is that the tail light is definitely brighter than stock, which I very much appreciate. In the end, its a lightbulb, its not exciting but it was worth it.
Purchased this bulb because the others looked like they would not fit. This one still did not fit. Had to grind off some of the base the bulb fits in. After that it worked as expected and saved some amps for the headlight. Price is a little ridiculous.
I bought these to save some wattage on my 05 Vulcan Nomad. The bulds were a little dimmer than my stock bulbs, after I installed them but I did a little research and found out why. Seems, I'm told, that the lenses Amber/red etc filter out the rest of the colors. So in essence the red lense filters out all but the red color and the amber filters out all but the amber color. So my white bulbs did not look bright with either the the amber or the red lense. I haven't tested it yet but I plan too at a later date with the correct color bulbs.
I'm just about as disappointed in this product as I've ever been with anything I've bought. The light was dimmer than the stock filament bulb, both tail light and brake light. I have removed it and put the stock bulb back in. The light was barely visable during daylight operation.
