Right now is the perfect time for snow lovers to be getting your sled ready for the winter, but there is one thing that often gets forgotten about.\u00a0 The snowmobile trailer<\/a> can be the last thing that riders think about when they are going through their preseason tune-ups.\u00a0 By sprucing up your trailer, you can have less stress hauling your sleds and spend more time on the snow than loading and unloading.<\/p>\n

Ski Guides and Track Mats<\/strong><\/p>\n

Some of the best and easiest things that you can add to your trailer are track mats and ski glides.\u00a0 They will not only make loading easier, but they will also prolong the life of your trailer.\u00a0 The ski guides serve a couple of purposes.\u00a0 The most important is that they will not let your carbides tear up the flooring of your trailer.\u00a0 The snowmobile ski guides will also hold the front of you sled in a straight line to allow you to load in the right spot every time.\u00a0 If you have studs and a tilt trailer, a track mat is a must.\u00a0 When loading onto a tilt snowmobile trailer, it is very easy to spin the track.\u00a0 If you do that with studs, you will turn your trailer into hamburger.\u00a0 The mat will also give a little added traction so you don\u2019t spin.<\/p>\n

Turning on or off of a v-front or enclosed snowmobile trailer can be a pain. \u00a0Turning on the surface of the trailer is easier said then done and often it just doesn’t happen on its own.\u00a0 Then you have to get off and yank it over.\u00a0 With the Flex-Glide<\/a>, your skis will be bumped into the direction that you need to go.\u00a0 These guides are easy to configure and will give your back a break from pulling on your sled.<\/p>\n

Mounted Ratchet Straps<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you\u2019re a little unorganized, like myself, it can get old digging through the garage looking for straps.\u00a0 It’s frustrating when all you want to do is hit the snow.\u00a0 With the Cargobuckle G3<\/a> retractable ratchet tie-downs, you will always know where your straps are.\u00a0 Another advantage of these straps is that you will have a dedicated anchor point so you don\u2019t have to drill holes or look under the trailer to hook it to the frame.\u00a0 Also, since the one side of the strap is anchored, the chances of the strap loosening and falling off of the sled are minimized.<\/p>\n

Tilt Assist Gas Shock<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you have a tilt snowmobile trailer, you know how much of a pain it can be to keep the trailer tilted down when you are loading.\u00a0 If you are by yourself, you might have to prop it up with something. This can be a delicate dance of trying to find something that is the right length and is sturdy enough.\u00a0 If you\u2019re lucky enough to be loading your sled with someone else, the other person can hold it up.\u00a0 While that works, it takes away the time that could be saved as the other person can be loading other things.\u00a0 A tilt assist<\/a> gas shock will hold the trailer down so can just simply tilt it and drive on.\"Tilt<\/a><\/p>\n

Tire Pressure Monitor<\/strong><\/p>\n

Once you get your sleds loaded up and you hit the road to your destination, the last thing that you want to happen is to blow a snowmobile trailer tire.\u00a0 Of course you checked the tire pressure before you left, but you have no idea what it is at while you are going down the road.\u00a0 For short trips, it really isn’t a huge deal.\u00a0 On the other hand, there are more variables and the tire pressure can change more readily on a long trip.\u00a0 With a tire pressure monitor, you can have peace of mind knowing that the pressure is where it should be.\u00a0 The sensors simply attach to your valve stems and send the readout to a remote transceiver.<\/p>\n
