That includes rises in all four segments, scooter, dual purpose, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.denniskirk.com\/dirt-bike\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">off road<\/a> and highway motorcycles, something that has not happened since the year 2002! Not too surprisingly scooters led the pack with an increase of 7.7%, followed by dual purpose at 7.4%.\u00a0 Although most in the industry anticipated sales to be better for 2012, many were pleasantly surprised to see it even higher than they expected. Total motorcycle sales were 452,386, still a far cry from the 1.1 million that were sold in 2006, but we will take any increase we can get. Here&#8217;s to 2013!
