We had the pleasure of catching up with Shawn Wright from Rinehart Racing, who leads their sales and marketing efforts out of the beautiful mountains of Asheville, North Carolina. Shawn dropped by to show off some exciting new products for 2025, and we sat down to get the inside scoop on where Rinehart Racing is headed this year and beyond.
The Big Drops for 2025
One of the first things Shawn shared is the expansion of their popular DBX45 slip-ons, now available in CVO match finishes for riders with CVO Road Glides, Street Glides, and CVO ST models. These pipes are designed to match factory headers perfectly, something Rinehart customers have been asking for, and they deliver the signature Rinehart sound in spades.
Also on the horizon is a brand-new slip-on for 2025 Softail models, which are now shipping with factory 2-into-1 systems. Shawn says the new Rinehart slip-on looks great, sounds even better, and has been getting fantastic early feedback.
That’s just the beginning. Rinehart is also working on:
- A new True Dual system for M8 Touring bikes, which is a totally fresh approach that promises big things.
- Several new 2-into-1 systems in development for both Touring and Softail models.
What Makes the DBX Series a Standout?
When asked why the DBX series is so popular, Shawn didn’t hesitate: “It’s the sound.” The Rinehart tone is aggressive, unmistakable, and engineered, They’re not just loud for loud’s sake. While many aftermarket exhausts are purely about volume, Rinehart focuses on tone, resonance, and clarity. The result is a pipe that sounds powerful but still refined. This is especially crucial for Milwaukee-Eight riders wanting more bark than the stock setup can provide.
Tackling 49-State Compliance Without Compromising Sound
As the industry moves toward emissions and noise regulations, riders are understandably worried about losing the sound they love. Rinehart has stepped up to meet the challenge. Their current lineup offers systems that are 49-state compliant, and according to Shawn, most riders won’t even be able to tell the difference in sound quality compared to the old non-compliant setups.
Key innovations include:
- No catalyst in the head pipes, eliminating the extra heat often felt by riders and passengers.
- High-flow catalyst design in the mufflers. Shawn notes that this is more like what you’d find in a high-end sports car than a stock Harley system.
- More power and torque, even over older non-compliant systems.
This isn’t your average EPA-friendly exhaust. It’s something Rinehart has spent years engineering to preserve their legendary sound and performance.
Indian Motorcycle Expansion
While Rinehart has long been a Harley favorite, they’ve also been making major moves in the Indian Motorcycle market. Since 2015, they’ve offered full support for Polaris-built Indians, applying the same performance, engineering, and quality as their Harley lineup.
It’s been a rewarding venture, especially as Indian continues to win over riders with power-packed platforms like the Scout, Chieftain, and Roadmaster. Whether Indian owners stay loyal or eventually switch to Harley, they’ll already be familiar with the Rinehart name and that’s by design.
2024 Was a Challenge, but 2025 Looks Stronger Than Ever
Shawn acknowledged that 2024 brought some difficulties, including raw material shortages and delays from Hurricane Helen’s impact in North Carolina. Those challenges made Rinehart pipes a little harder to get—but riders stuck with them, often waiting weeks to get their hands on the gear. That loyalty wasn’t taken for granted.
Now, those issues are in the rearview mirror. Rinehart product is in stock, on shelves, and ready to ship, and that is especially true for Dennis Kirk.
And there’s more to love: Rinehart Racing remains fully American-made and American-sourced. When parts arrive, they’re built fast, stocked quickly, and shipped out fast.
Looking Ahead
With a reinvigorated product line, deeper commitment to compliance without compromise, and a growing presence in both the Harley and Indian markets, 2025 is shaping up to be a huge year for Rinehart Racing.
So, if you’re chasing that aggressive-but-tuned sound, looking for a slip-on that actually improves performance, or just want to know your pipe was made in the USA, Rinehart Racing should be on your radar this year. You can find Rinehart Racing’s full selection at Dennis Kirk.
Stay tuned. More is coming.
