Fall is just around the corner and with that comes cooler temps and rain storms. But why should that stop you from riding? If your answer to that is because your gear can’t handle it, it’s time to upgrade. Scorpion’s new fall gear release has options for both men and women that allows you to brave all weather conditions. This gear is more than just waterproof, it’s weatherproof.
With this fall release, Scorpion is making it so that all you need is one jacket and pair of riding pants to ride in all conditions. That means that you no longer have to scramble around to get your rain suit out of your motorcycle luggage once it starts to pour. You just simply ride on and leave the rest of the riders behind. Possibly the best new additions to the category this year are the Waterproof Seattle pants for men and the Waterproof Medina pants for women. Both of these pairs of motorcycle pants will give you the ability to keep going when others head in.
Other than the cut and the addition of two waterproof cargo pockets on the Seattle pants, these pants are virtually identical, which is often rare. Many times the womens version of a product lacks the same features and quality of materials that are used in the mens. Scorpion has made sure that both the mens Seattle and the womens Medina pants can hold up to year round, all weather riding.
Year round riding usually necessitates having two or more sets of gear for the different seasons (unless of course you live in the always-pleasant areas like southern California). The mens Seattle pants and the womens Medina pants are both designed to clean up your closet as they are the only pair that each of you will need all year long. This is due to the chassis of the pants being completely waterproof and breathable in addition to the removable Ever-Heat® liner. Rain- no problem. Cold- no problem. Just ride.
For the rainy weather, you won’t have to worry about any leaks. All of the pockets and zippers are waterproof. There is even an internal zipper rain gusset that runs down the side of the legs to channel any water that does come through out. At the bottom of the hem, you will find shockcord adjusters to seal the pants to your boots, keeping out the rain and cold. The liner is fully removable and even has full length zippers for added venting. These zippers also make it easy to put the pants on over your boots. There is plenty of NightViz® reflective material to keep you visible during the nighttime and rainy rides.
Both pairs of pants are also well equipped to handle the abuse that year round riding dishes out. The chassis is constructed with a durable 600D Polyester with 1680D Nylon abrasion zones in the knees. Combine that with the vertically adjustable Sas-Tec® CE knee armor and the PE foam on the hips and these pants are ready for any ride. The seat features two grip panels on each side that will greatly increase your grip to the seat.
Fitment and flexibility are always an important factor and both pairs of pants have plenty of it. The dual waist adjustment give you the option of keeping them loose to wear as overpants or tightening them up to wear as normal riding pants. The bottom hem can be raised a total of 2 inches, which gives you the ability to customize the height of the pants to fit you perfectly. For maximum mobility there are large stretch rib gussets above the knees and an accordion waist band on the back.
