Sure, all the dried dirt and crusty bugs on your leather motorcycle jacket make you look like a bad ass from Mad Max, but it’s definitely not going to prolong the life of it.  All of that caked on debris can dry out the leather, which can make it crack and can also lead to rotting in the seams and stitching.  So instead of throwing your jacket in the closet after a ride and forgetting about it, take the time every few months to show your motorcycle jacket some love and care. Cleaning the leather by hand is the safest choice to preserve the form and quality of your jacket.  To clean it by hand, it works best if you can solidly hang it up so you […]

For seasoned motorcycle riders, the old adage rings true, “it’s not if you go down, it’s when you go down.”  It’s because of this fact that motorcycle gear is becoming more and more technically advanced.  From carbon fiber helmets to Kevlar reinforced jackets and pants.  Riders are getting a chance to ride with gear that will not only protects them in the event of a crash, but also to prevent the crash in the first place.  Here are a few motorcycle jackets that take different routes to keep riders safe on their bikes. No we’re not talking about the rider being naked.  That could lead to some unfortunate road rash or sunburn at the least.  We’re talking about the growing popularity of naked motorcycles.  More and more, riders are choosing the naked style over other bikes.  So what exactly is a naked bike?  To answer that, we need to first learn the history of streetfighters. With the release of the first real sport bike (the Suzuki GSX-R 750) in Europe in the mid 80’s, the sportbike craze was born.  These bikes, as we all know, come with a full fairing and plastics all over the bike.  With the rise of popularity of the sportbike combined and its insane speed and stunting capabilities, many bikes were laid down or crashed, which […]

Everyone has their own story to tell about their riding history.  Whether we’re consciously aware of it or not, we all have had different influences that have directed the way we ride and what we ride.  The motorcycle that you ride is much more than just a machine that entertains you.  It connects you to the world that surrounds you.  The history of the motorcycle world is so rich and expansive, which allows for so many different stories to develop. “Stories of Bike” is a video series that aims to explore the unique stories of different motorcyclists and the bikes that connect them together.  It goes beyond the usual story of the technical back story to the build of the bike.  The bike is just the backbone […]
