Combine Passions to Keep the Ride Alive

Posted on 20 Sep 2013 in Powersports | 0 comments

This video shows just how innovative people can be when they decide to follow their passions.  More often than not, when you think of using a sport vehicle aiding in snowboarding, that machine will be a snowmobile.  The people in the film have something a little more different in mind.  They went on their winter trip on their motorcycles.

In the video, the people wanted to combine their two favorite passions, even though they typically occur in different seasons.  The result was a completely unique experience.  They faced a new set of challenges, but that seemed to add to the excitement of the trip.  These people decided to venture into something new and were rewarded with something that they will never forget.

That’s why we love powersports, right?  It’s the sense of adventure and to push yourself to greater heights.  Sometimes we can lose some of the passion for riding when we stick to our riding routines.  When we continue to ride the same way and in the same places, it can lose its effects on us.  Trying something new might be the way to keep the passion alive.

So how do you try something new?  One place to start could be to follow in the footsteps of the guys in the video.  Try to combine something else that you love to do with riding.  It doesn’t have to be snowboarding.  Maybe if you love to cook, you could pack a small grill and ride to a new park and try out a new recipe.  Pack a fly rod and ride to some remote waters that you have never been to.  The options are endless, the only limit is your own creativity.

What are some things that keep your passion for riding alive and well?  Have you ever combined other hobbies with riding?  Let us know in the comments.

Ryan is one of the lucky ones who gets to combine their passion with work. He has enjoyed powersports his whole life and now gets to write about it. Ryan has been around the industry since High School and continues to enjoy learning and sharing about powersports with others in his role at DK.
