See What’s new for ’14 Motocross Gear
The motocross gear arms race is in full swing with all of the major players releasing their 2014 MX lineups. Every year, enthusiastic MX riders wait for their favorite brand to reveal their new products to see what they will be rocking the next time they get out on the track. Every rider is unique and wants to stand out while riding. If you can’t quite whip your bike out Robbie Maddison, you can still get noticed by wearing the motocross gear that fits your style. Here are some of the best and unique new products coming out of the MX 2014 lineups.
What better place to start, then with arguably the most notable brand around the world: Fox. You can bring back the glory days when you wear the Fox 360 Intake gear in yellow and blue. The styling draws influences from Hotrod culture, vintage racing and choppers. With the classic styling, don’t expect this gear to perform like the motocross gear of old, though. The Fox V4 Intake helmet is one of the most comfortable helmets on the market with maximum airflow through the venting and is extremely light with its carbon fiber shell construction.
Life’s a beach with the Thor Core Aloha Volcom kit. The collaboration of Thor and Volcom has resulted in this mellow vibe kit for the rider who is most relaxed when riding. “Volcom to Paradise” is featured on the Jersey, letting others know that your paradise is on your bike. If you happen to be riding in Island-like heat, the jersey will keep you cool with its 100% poly chassis to allow for superior moisture wicking. This kit is definitely a statement maker on the track.
The Faction lineup from Shift might not be the most unique motocross gear, but it certainly is a quality product. The styling is sleek and modern and a bit more aggressive than the previous year’s Faction lineup. This lineup is absolutely built to perform, though. With riders like Chad Reed and “Twitch” Stenberg, you know that the product can hold up to hard riding.
Transitioning nicely into the motocross world from snowcross and mountain riding, FXR and Klim are bringing their snowmobile styling to the warmer climates. Since their inception, FXR Racing has believed that the bold and aggressive color schemes on their products give the racer a mental boost at the starting gates. The FXR Podium line is all about bold aggression with its bright design. Klim, on the other hand, is the not the flashiest gear, but is definitely made for tough riding. The Dakar Pro Jersey is built for the harshest off-road riding. It features unique padding placement to protect you from snagging branches, rocks and other rider’s roosts. This jersey is built to handle all that can be thrown at it while riding off-road.
