Purchase of Hidden Beauty.
A lightweight Aluminum Pulley has been tempting me for quite some time now.. however at the price ~$130, it's value seems questionable. I finally bit the bullet and put one one a bike, a heavily modified 1997 Buell S1. I was not expecting much of a noticeable increase. However I was more than pleasantly surprised. This unit weighs in at a flat 2 pounds. 4 pounds lighter than the stock cast iron unit. On a 5.5" radius that is a rather large decrease in inertia. The bike feels much more spry, and perhaps was just as big of an increase as new heads. Not only did the bike pull harder, but due to the Pulley being below the bikes center of gravity, and spinning at up to 8,000 RPM's there is much less gyroscopic stabilizing happening. The bike had a noticeable flickablilty after installing this. I was quite surprised.

Fit and finish is great, but when compared to the Baker Specialties, Belt Drive LTD could have gone to a further extent in reducing the mass even further. The body of the pulley is thicker than needs be, and there could be "speed holes" milled into the radius as well. Otherwise this is a top notch product, the aluminum has been heat treated, and very good annodizing, though the color is a bit drab if you want to show it off... Even comes with a new pulley nut, retainer, and Output shaft seals. Top notch product.

front pully
I turned two stock pulleys off the shaft. Yes I beat my bikes a little, but I haven't spun this one yet. I think its been two years, and I am very happy.

Helping the customer
A drive sprocket repair should not take three months to complete.
I did not have any information with the part or from the people I spoke to that the part in the picture, by the way is an exact match to the original, has had a design change. pulley comes with new seal and spacer, different from O.E. that must be used.New drive sprocket has wider spline area so a smaller spacer must be used. This also changes the seal inner diameter.
I did use another company initially who gave me same product but started my confusion by sending me a seal and spacer like my original so pulley wouldn't fit. Correct picture and some note that it is upgrade needing complete change of components would help.
I understand how difficult it is to know every detail of every part in inventory.
I hope this info helps prevent another customer from similar confusion.

Respectfully,
Charlie K
