This is the second Baron tach I've owned, and this one is even better than the first. There's barely any needle bounce at idle with my V2K, has great fit and finish, and seems virtually indestructable. It's worth the price and I would definitely buy another!
This is the first Barons Tach I have owned. It is the perfect size for my VTX.. I already had the tank off for other maint. and with the enclosed instructions I had it installed in 15 minutes. Looks great works great and the price was right. Got it in 2 days. Thanks Dennis Kirk for another fine product.
Fast Shipper, Dennis Kirk, VT750C2F Once the fuel tank was removed to get to a coil everything went well. I replaced the back light with a amber bulb to match the speedometer. Looks great and most important works great.
I paid the extra tariff for the multicolor lights on this tach because the product description led me to believe (or allowed me to assume) that the dial face would change color as engine speed varied. In fact you just get to select among seven dial colors, presumably to suit your mood. I wish one was plain white. The instrument is very handsome, seems quite well made (Taiwan) and is nicely finished. The installation instructions, being generic, are not at all easy for a layman to follow, and at first a friend and I couldn't get the thing to work on my Vulcan 500. However, the technical support from Baron was quite patient and helpful, The operation is very smooth, with virtually no "bounce" at idle speed.
Piece of junk! The housing is well made but the electronics are lousy. Needle constantly bounces at all RPM. Verified all connections were solid and correct, but it still bounces. I might expect this from a $50 piece, but not one that costs this much. Save your money, buy something else.
