Avon Storm 3D XM, well worth considering.
My 2015 Kawasaki XZX1000 "Ninja ABS" squeezed 16,000 km out of a set of Avon 3D XMs. A whole lot of twisty roads, many a day in the rain and several days crossing the Canadian Prairies. They abosrb bumps better than the stock Bridgestones, feel MUCH better at peg-scraping lean angles, are made in England where cool weather and rain are always a concern--they work well in those conditions. And they last. Excellent value. And they've made me a more confident rider.

Avon 3D storm
I only have 150 miles on this but so far so good. It does seem to has a little less dry traction than the previouls Metzler Lasertek. I expect decent mileage from this. I also noticed it follows the lines of a grated bridge more than the Metzler and acts differently braking hard while in a steep turn. It seems to want to push you back up when you brake in the corner.

Underappreciated tires
These Avons dramatically outperform the two sets of highly-rated Dunlops that preceded them on my sport-touring bike. Just better in all respects. Highly recommended.

Front (AV65) Storm 3D X-M 110/80ZR-18 Tire
Got it to match the 3D X-M rear radial for 2002 Kawasaki Concours. 120/70ZR-18 is the callout for the original equipment tire size, but most other manufactures tires in this size are designed for a 3.5" rim. The 1994-2006 Connies have a 3.0" rim, and this size ~ 110/80/ZR-18 will fit the 3.0" rim, as well as the 1986-1993 2.5" rim.

Great touring tires
My all time favorite touring tires on my FJR1300. After over 100,000 miles on FJRs and trying multiple brands, these are the ones I always go back to. Best mileage except maybe for the Michelins, but they handled bad after 5,000 miles. No such problem with the Avon's.

BEST ANSWER: We recommend keeping both front and rear tires at the same speed rating to ensure proper safety and performance recommendations. If you so choose please refer to Avon's Speed Rating and Load Index chart for any questions:
