Great cam for softail
I bought this cam and did head work (new valves, springs, decked .030) and man did it wake the bike up. In no way will a stock evo keep up with this. I did not swap over cam gears (mine was green/blue) and i have no noise what so ever. Bike is all around a completely different machine, perhaps with just doing cam and no headwork u might have a delay when bike comes on power (cam comes alive) but with mild build i did it seems almost non existant. Make sure u check case clearance (rear lobe clearance) as i did have to dremel mine to have room for lobe rotation. Overall this is a great upgrade and like everyone says you will not regret it. If you do base gaskets like i did get ready to spend some time scraping old ones off. A push rod cover tool if $30 or less is worth buying if i did it again i would buy one, might just get one anyways. This cam is in a nightrain softail and riding two up it feel like a stock bike with a little more go (when ur riding solo) but when you ride bike solo its a real screamer. If you looking for the CAM sound (bump..bump..bump) this is probably not the cam for you altough it is different the stock N Grind sound. I'm running this cam with stock cv carb (jetted#, Intake, etc. And with Samson Legend Shorty pipes with baffles in.. completely against what 95% of builders say to use and To be honest idk what they talking about cause bike still flys and has plenty of grunt. This was just my 2 cents on cam and hopefully it helped. I also did s&s breather and s&s pushrods #not quickees).
-Photo is of ev27 and Stock N-grind cam so you can see lobe difference-

I am no pro and i was able to install cam with no issues. Make sure you buy cam bearing puller tool and tappet block alignment screws

Andrews EV27 Camshaft
My 1991 HD FXLR Low Rider Custom, has alot more grunt and after the installation of a complete Mikuni HSR 42 Carb Kit, Andrews EV-27 Camshaft, Andrew EZ Chrome Moly Pushrods and Crankcase Breather. At my earliest convenience, I plan to have the heads ported for maximun street enjoyment. See ya! I'm in the wind!
