They came, I saw, I returned them

April 30, 2011

I bought these All American saddlebags to replace my HD Heritage Style Saddlebags (on my '04 FLSTCI), but, upon seeing them, returned them to D Kirk and cleaned up my existing saddlebags. My biggest beef w/ the AL bags is that they're cheap - the material is much too thin - even for normal luggage; they wouldn't last very long. They are the right size - they'll hold about what my current s'bags hold, and, on paper, they're right. But the bags are poorly constructed. Besides being made of too-thin material, the handles aren't even functional: you could maybe slip your fingers between the handles and the bags if you have very small fingers, but the photo grossly misrepresents their fit and sturdiness. The handles are pressed cut-outs fitted to the bags w/ zero allowance for actually being used.

I wouldn't recommend this item to a friend.
