I have been riding motorcycles seated behind my husband for almost 40 years. The "numb bum" syndrome has made me uncomfortable on every ride lasting more than an hour or two, even when we switched over to a Road King (from a Wide Glide which had a much smaller seat). This seat cushion has been a dream. On one day of being on the motorcycle for over 13 hours, I actually could have ridden longer! It's a great product-- I wish I had found it years ago.
I have had two trips in the past month of 600 plus miles per day. I have used the Airhawk cushion and have found it to be very comfortable and extended my daily mileage, without feeling as if I was put thru a torture test.. My wife used the airhawk on some shorter rides as a passenger and was quite impressed. I will be purchasing a unit for her as well in the near future. My take on the Airhawk is that you can turn a horrible seat into a comfortable one and a comfortable seat into a very comfortable seat with Airhawk.
My wife and I rode from Ohio to Sturgis, SD. with 4 other bikes. we were the only ones feeling okay when we got there and we were the only ones who rode home. all the others trailered home. well worth the money!!
My wife rides on the back of my wide glide with a mustange wide seat. I bought the Airhawk to try to help make her ride more comfrontable in hopes we could ride more miles in a day. We just completed a 2600 mile 9 day trip. She did over 400 miles several days and 540 on her best day. She liked using it turned around with the wide side up front. Money well spent!
I put on 1,300 miles (23.5 hours of saddle time) in three days on a Victory Cross Country and was real glad I had the AirHawk 2. I found out it didn't need alot of air to for max comfort. I have used other cushions and think the AirHawk 2 works the best.
Great Product, it's nice not getting num bum during a long ride. I have a quality, but firm seat, so after a long ride the airhawk really helps and makes the ride more enjoyable, and it's easy to store when not in use. At first, It takes some time to get the air just right, the mfg. suggests about 1/2" under your bum, then you just use it on the long rides. I really like it, don't be in pain, get one, and enjoy the ride.
Don't spend big money on a custom seats. Just transfer your Air Hawk from bike to bike. I used to buy custom seats for all my bikes then some one suggested the Air Hawk. I could have saved thousands of dollars. A small investment in an AIr Hawk just to try it. Could save your butt and your pocket book.
I have 2012 FLHTK, my left cheek kept getting sore after about an hour on the bike. Order this item and after getting it filled with the proper amount of air for my weight it worked fantastic. Just wish it would stay in place on the seat better.
First of all, this product definitely makes riding more comfortable. However, I think the size I bought may have been too small. When seated it seems to push the air to other places inside instead of around my butt. I'm not a large person but I suppose I should've purchased the larger size. (which for some reason costs almost 50% more). Other than that it is a lot better than riding on just the stock seat. Also, it definitely does not match the style of my bike.
I ride on the back of a bike that has a really cool seat...cool = uncomfortable, so I got this to help pad my booty from the pain of this really cool looking seat. It does its job (I'm not in pain after 2-3 hours. But, it is not big enough or the bubbles are to slippery it always feels like im falling off. The quality of the product is great. I would probably buy one of the ones that's shaped more like a butt next time.
Bought two of these and they both failed after a few rides. Bought a smaller one for the wife and it is still good even after I used it for awhile waiting for my second one to come in. Hers is two years old. They are comfortable when they work.
