Seems like very high quality helmet, and closeout price was excellent at Dennis Kirk. Fits true to the sizing chart. For reference, I'm coming from an HJC AC-11 in size large, and bought the AGV XR2 in medium. Only issues so far are that 1) I wear glasses and they're very hard to get on with this helmet. Their arms kind of just rest between the liner and my head, instead of actually going around my ears. 2) This helmet is loud at speed. I think louder than my HJC. I was surprised by that. Definitely have to wear ear plugs (should anyway). And 3) the shield replacement is not an easy task. Taking off the shield is easy, but it's hard to line up the smoke shield when putting it on.
This helmet looks great in person and pictures don't do it justice. Road noise is really good. The helmet I think is a little small but for the price I can live with it. Dennis kirk had hands down the fastest shipping I ever had from any site I order from online in the past.... Big A+ for them.... thanks and definitely shopping here again.
This helmet is still made in Italy, not china like the lower line.. and it fits and feels great.. it is also the quality of shoei, Arai and the likes but a lot lower in price.
The only negative is the plastic tabs to open and close the top rear vents.. they stick out too far and are brittle.. mine were working fine untill I accidentally banged the helmet against the wall when I was opening my door...
I can still make them function fine as part of the lever is still able to be moved with my finger and I generally always have the top ones open anyway so it is not too big of a deal.
Too Bad they are no longer going to be making this line... it is race quality but closer to touring comfort.
IT does fit large though.. I normally take a large (eg large in shoei rf-1000) but in this one I take the ML (they have 2 mediums) and it is perfect, large was too loose and the MS was too small... the medium-large is great!
This helmet looks and fits absolutley awesome!! however, one of the flimsy thin plastic vent levers is broken and doesnt click into its positions. looking inside the vent, you can see a broken piece on the lever, I was unhappy about that, but, I love the fit & finish so much, that I dont want to return it just to have one break off 6 months from now getting caught on something (like your own glove, trying to feel around for the vent levers while in motion). I have a friend that had a vent lever break on a similar AGV. I may just remove the vent lever tabs all-together, so that the vents will always be open.
