Nice style for a large tank
Purchased for a 2018 FE501, same as EXC500. For the biggest tank size, its not horrible. The styling is very good and yes, you use your stock panels and your shrouds. Prior years the 4 gal. did not use the shrouds. Yes it is a bit yellow compared to the stock tank color. You can always go black if that bothers you, just wont be able to see your fuel level at a glance. Regarding the hardware for install... yes Acerbis does not use brass inserts, they simply provide self tapping screws that cut threads into pre drilled holes in the plastic. They all work just fine, "except" the 4 provided for the fuel pump, they are simply too short to work, best not even to try or you will mess up the holes. But its an easy fix at your local hardware, just get four 1 inch sheet metal screws/bolt head and it will work perfectly. Outside of that, its probably the best looking 4 gal you can buy, looks nicer than the IMS (imo). Also the tank comes with an outlet pipe that points straight down. The 90 degree side outlet from the stock tank will not work, the stock tank is much thicker and that causes the stock 90 to not seal properly on the thinner Acerbis. (yes, with jerry rigging possibly could work), so if you want the 90 outlet, just get it, cuz you will need it. I was frustrated that I couldn't find any images of the tank on a 2018 bike, or even a different view, so I am including pics, hope they help someone decide.
