Post-Install Review
OK. I was a bit harsh in the previous review. This was due to the frustration of trying to find a 3/4" socket that could be used for the riser installation. Since then, I've located a Craftsman thin-walled socket that measure 0.99 inches in a micrometer. It was snug, but fit inside the riser. I was able to install these on my '99 FXSTS with no problems at all. I was planning to use a stamped washer under the lock nut, but it's not necessary. These risers are a perfect fit and the finish is perfect! These are the only risers I've found that are designed for the Springer Front End. If you're changing risers on your Springer, these are the ones you should use!

Great design but you can't install them
I bought these risers for my '99 FXSTS Springer Softail. I checked with the Sales Department of Accutronix before making the purchase to make sure I didn't need anything else. They told me that these risers use the original HD Fork Studs and nuts. When I received them, they looked like perfect replacements for my stock risers. (They do not use the rubber bushings. They are a sold mount.) When I checked to see if I could get a 3/4" socket down inside to tighten the nut on the fork stud, it wouldn't fit. I called Accutronix Tech Support who told me I needed to acquire a thin-walled socket. They suggested Sears. I've looked everywhere (Sears, Snap-On, Matco, etc) and have not been able to find a 3/4" socket that is less than 1" in diameter. I'm planning to take a Craftsman socket to a machine shop and have them reduce it by .020. Seems like a minor problem given the amount of thought that went into the design, but they're not worth a dime if you can't install them.
