Better ride,but...

May 17, 2011

I bought these shocks because my original ones had finally given up the ghost. Kind of a bear to install, probably because I didn't tear the bike completely down to get them on...'86 GL 1200 Interstate(a combination of lack of time and patience 'cause you gotta tear the hind-end off of her). They fit the bike very well. The bragging point of the shock being billet kinda takes away from the overall look as the stock ones these replaced where chromed, although they are somewhat covered. Finger tight on the air connections is the rule of the day...and they do seal at finger tight - go figure. The ride height is defintely higher as the rear wheel is now on the ground when the bike is on the center stand - making it much harder to get off the center stand. But I can deal with that as the ride is much improved. And, DK sells these for about $100 less than anyone else I could find!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would recommend this item to a friend.
