S&S 48-64 Super Stock Generator Engine Cases 148903: Manufacturer part # 310008 - Cast from 357 T-6 heat-treated aluminum alloy, these cases include crankcase bolts, washers and nuts, cylinder mounting studs, timing hole plug, magnetic drain plug, assorted breather and oil line fittings, top end oil screen spring and plug, sprocket shaft Timken bearing assembly, oil seal, pinion shaft main bearing race, cam needle bearing assembly, oil pump shaft bushings and installation instructions. Use Timken-style sprocket shaft bearings and 58 and later pinion bearings -- will not accept 57 and earlier flywheels. Bearing races are all line honed. Breather cavity is precision machined to optimize breather timing for maximum oil scavenging. Machined for 3 7/16 in. cylinders. Tapped 1/4 in.-20 for gear covers, oil pump, tappet guides, timer and timer advance. Drilled for 5/16 in. generator mounting bolts. Choose from two styles of inner primaries -- 36-64 models use 55-64 style inner primary and 65-69 models use 65-69 alloy inner primary. 63-65 models with outside oil lines must use oil port to the rear of the tappet block or use oil port in gear cover along with custom oil lines. Generator crankcase gear kit (includes circuit breaker drive gear, idler gear, circuit breaker gear and shims) and shafts must be purchased separately: 14-8911 and 14-8905.
