Mid USA OE-Style Replacement Frame For Softail: Manufacturer part # 20015 - Create your own Softail model using 86-99 components. For strength, this frame's backbone is made of 1 1/2 in. o.d., .188 in. wall thickness DOM tubing. The 1 1/8 in. o.d. tubing has a .120 in. wall thickness that has been TIG welded on all-new hardened and ground tooling for the most accurate fit ever. Made to accept a Big Twin Evolution engine with up to .200 in. taller cylinders, a 5-speed solid-mount tranmission, rear belt drive and flatside Fat Bob gas tanks. A weld-on bracket kit complete with oil filter mount, rear brake master cylinder mount, electrical connection bracket and highway bar/clutch cable bracket is also supplied. Supplied with Manufacturer's Statement of Origin. OE rake and stretch, replaces OEM NO. 47008-89A.. 20015

Machined neck stem takes press-in bearing races; no need for fork cups. Narrowed frame rails for better cornering, even at low ride height; low seat height for lower center of gravity. Triangulated, solid machined top motor mount. One-piece machined transmission plate is 1/2 in. thick. Engine and transmission are centered in chassis for excellent balance. Right-side drive only and accommodates wide tires. Welded-on mount tabs allow 84-99 Softail-style forward controls to be mounted to chassis. Chrome Legend Air Suspension is included and installs flush with the bottom of the frame. Swingarm features triangulated high-strength design, DOM tubing all-radial bends, 1 in. stainless rear axle, flush axle caps with hidden fasteners, two stainless pivot bolts and pivot axis tube, pivot bearings and spacers. The conversion over to spherical bearings in the early models dramatically changes the handling and tracking of all the FLT's and FXR's. The sticksion at the swingarm pivot is greatly reduced with the new spherical bearings. This allows for the swingarm to react quicker to any harsh road conditions keeping the wheel in contact with the road.
